Agricultural contractors and paddock maintenance in Oxfordshire: tell us what needs doing.

An overgrown paddock, a field of docks and nettles, grass that got away from you over the summer. Describe it in your own words and we’ll pass it to agricultural contractors covering Oxfordshire, free, and with no obligation to accept a quote.

45 contractors in the network already cover Oxfordshire, in the South East. Send the job through and whoever’s keen gets in touch with you directly.

Grazing ground in Oxfordshire, and what it needs.

Cotswold limestone brash in the west (thin, stony and free-draining), giving way to the heavy clay vales and Thames gravels further east. The brash dries out quickly in a hot summer, while the clay vale paddocks hold wet.

Light chalk ground dries early, so harrowing and rolling can start sooner here than in most of the country. Topping runs through summer, and the heavier Wealden clay is best left until it has dried out properly to avoid rutting the field.

Not sure which of those your field needs? Describe what it looks like and the contractor will tell you: that’s their job, not yours.

How much does paddock topping cost in Oxfordshire?

It depends on the acreage, how heavy the growth is, how good the access is for machinery and how far the contractor travels to reach you, so the price comes from the contractor who’d do the work, not from us. Describing the job takes a minute and quotes are free.

Will someone come out to a small paddock in Oxfordshire?

Yes. A single pony paddock is a perfectly normal job. We handle work for private paddock owners and one-horse fields through to equestrian yards, smallholdings, farms and estates across Oxfordshire.

What if my field is in Oxfordshire but near the border?

Not a problem. Give us the postcode and we’ll match on where the field actually is. Contractors work across county lines all the time, and plenty cover more than one county.

Who runs this?

Emmerdale Agriculture Online Ltd, the company behind Hampshire Paddock Management, a contracting firm that does paddock work every day. You book and pay through us, and the contractor does the work.

How do I pay?

A 15% deposit by card to book the job, and the rest once the work is done and you have confirmed it, taken from the same card, due within 7 days of sign-off. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel.
