Paddock & field work · North Yorkshire

Agricultural contractors and paddock maintenance in North Yorkshire: tell us what needs doing.

An overgrown paddock, a field of docks and nettles, grass that got away from you over the summer. Describe it in your own words and we’ll pass it to agricultural contractors covering North Yorkshire, free, and with no obligation to accept a quote.

55 contractors in the network already cover North Yorkshire, in Yorkshire and the Humber. Send the job through and whoever’s keen gets in touch with you directly.

Grazing ground in North Yorkshire, and what it needs.

About as varied as ground gets: limestone in the Dales, acidic peat and heather on the Moors, chalk on the Wolds, and sand and clay through the Vale of York. Two paddocks ten miles apart can need entirely different treatment.

The lighter Wolds and Dales ground dries early and takes machinery well; the Vale clay needs more patience in spring. Topping runs through the summer either way.

Not sure which of those your field needs? Describe what it looks like and the contractor will tell you: that’s their job, not yours.

Who does paddock maintenance in North Yorkshire?

How much does paddock topping cost in North Yorkshire?

It depends on the acreage, how heavy the growth is, how good the access is for machinery and how far the contractor travels to reach you, so the price comes from the contractor who’d do the work, not from us. Describing the job takes a minute and quotes are free.

Will someone come out to a small paddock in North Yorkshire?

Yes. A single pony paddock is a perfectly normal job. We handle work for private paddock owners and one-horse fields through to equestrian yards, smallholdings, farms and estates across North Yorkshire.

What if my field is in North Yorkshire but near the border?

Not a problem. Give us the postcode and we’ll match on where the field actually is. Contractors work across county lines all the time, and plenty cover more than one county.

Who runs this?

Emmerdale Agriculture Online Ltd, the company behind Hampshire Paddock Management, a contracting firm that does paddock work every day. You book and pay through us, and the contractor does the work.

How do I pay?

A 15% deposit by card to book the job, and the rest once the work is done and you have confirmed it, taken from the same card, due within 7 days of sign-off. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel.
