Forage here

What Scottish Borders makes and what that means for you.

Stock-rearing country with real arable along the Tweed, so hay and haylage off the valley and hill grazing, and cereal straw from the lower ground, often from the same farms.

Cuts are later here, so don’t judge availability by a southern calendar. Straw from the east travels well across the central belt; forage for the islands and the north-west Highlands needs more notice and the haulage priced in from the start.

Common questions

Scottish Borders, answered.

Can you supply hay in Scottish Borders?
Yes: we match hay, straw and haylage enquiries with suppliers across Scottish Borders. Tell us the forage type, quantity and how you’d like it delivered or collected, and we’ll connect you with someone local who has it.
What types can I get?
Meadow and seed hay, barley and wheat straw, and haylage, in big square or round bales, or conventional small bales, by the load or the trailer-full.
How much does it cost?
Price depends on the forage type, bale size, quantity and distance, and it’s agreed directly with the supplier. Send an enquiry and we’ll come back with options, no obligation.
